This page explains what information Rise After Heartbreak collects, why, and what happens to it. Short version: very little is collected, nothing about you is ever sold, and you can ask me to delete what I have at any time.
What is collected
- Your email address, if you choose to subscribe or to request a free chapter. You give it to me. Nothing takes it automatically.
- Anything you send me, such as a story submitted through Share Your Story, or a comment on a post.
- Basic visit information collected automatically, such as which pages were viewed, roughly what part of the world a visit came from, and what kind of device was used. This does not identify you by name.
What it is used for
If you subscribe, this site emails you new posts when they are published. That happens automatically through WordPress.com. You can stop it at any time using the unsubscribe link at the bottom of any of those emails.
If you asked for a free chapter, your email is used to send it to you.
Visit information is used to understand which posts people read, so I can write more of what helps.
Your information is never sold, rented, or traded.
Who else can see it
This site runs on WordPress.com, operated by Automattic, which stores the site, its subscriber list, and its visitor statistics. This site also uses Google Analytics to count visits. Both companies process this data on my behalf and have their own privacy policies. Your information is not shared with anyone else except where the law requires it.
Cookies
This site uses cookies, which are small files your browser stores. They keep the site working properly, remember your language preference, and count visits, including through Google Analytics. You can block or delete cookies in your browser settings, though parts of the site may then stop working as expected.
Unsubscribing, and asking me to delete your information
Every subscription email has an unsubscribe link at the bottom and it works immediately.
You can also write to info@riseafterheartbreak.com at any time and ask to see what information I hold about you, to correct it, or to delete it entirely. I will do it.
Children
This site is written for adults and is not directed at children under 13. I do not knowingly collect information from children. If you believe a child has sent me their information, write to me and I will delete it.
Stories submitted to this site
If you send a story through Share Your Story, you are giving permission for it to be published here. Tell me if you want it published anonymously and it will be. Your email address is never published, and you can ask for your story to be taken down at any time.
Changes to this policy
If this policy changes, the updated version will be posted here with a new date.
